We worked more principal shooting for Gioia Bruno at Voodoo Lounge last night. The shoot took place outside at the entrance of the club. The scene was a group of fans waiting in line for Gioia to drive up and be escorted into the club. Her vehicle drives up, the goers go crazy, she exits the vehicle and is rushed inside after she waves to her throng of fans. It was a downpour for about 15 minutes before we were able to shoot but that gave the street a great area of reflection for the lights and added a more dramatic entrance for the vehicle as it pulled into scene.

Night Shift is acting as second camera unit on a music video being shot by Fandango Pictures. The video is for the lead performer of the 80's band Expose. Gioia Bruno, their lead singer, is in the process of making a triumphant comeback and yours truly is helping in the project. The shoot is taking place in S. Florida at a number of different locations. Gioia is traveling between gigs to shoot a remake of one of the group's big hits, “Your Love is Lifting Me Higher”. I can tell you first hand that Gioia looks and sounds phenomenal. I assisted during the shoot at Dennis Rodman's Voodoo Lounge in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I've known the director, Ramiro Hernandez, for almost a year and had the chance to work on a couple other projects acting as Script Supervisor, Lighting, Boom Operator and Extra when needed. I'm really excited about helping with this. I've had the good fortune of talking to Gioia and remember hearing he group's music when it first came out. I may be very into 80's and 90's metal but I have to admit that when I saw the performance during the shoot, I was taken back. I can't wait to see the final cut and wish Gioia all the luck I can muster. I've been told she has new songs that she's been working on and if they're anything like what I've seen for this remake, I know she'll be great.
